- San Diego Zoo- They started with four pandas in 1940. There was 30 births recorded from 1941 to 1954 and they have maintained the reproduction of the species. Presently, there is one red panda that you can see in the Zoo's Panda Trek exhibit.
- Smithsonian National Zoological Park- At the moment, the zoo has two one-year-old red pandas. There are also breeding pairs that are located in the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute
